Mock Interviews & Resume Writing Workshop

The Mustang Youth Services Center coordinated mock interview sessions with local businesses in the area in an effort to better equip our students with the necessary tools to be successful in today’s workforce.  In partnership with the Leadership Development class taught by Mrs. Jennifer Adams, students took part in the full interview process with local business professionals.  Students developed resumes,  dressed in business attire and participated in an actual interview for specific career fields.   Local business professionals provided feedback and offered solutions to the students to learn how to have a good interview.  The Mustangs YSC would like to thank our local business professionals for their time and expertise given to the students at MCHS!  Businesses represented:  Joni Goodman, KeeFORCE; Kathryn Joyner, Baptist Health Paducah; Adam Shull, McCracken County Public Schools and Andy Carloss, Midtown Market.

Online Media & Bullying Presentations

The Mustangs Youth Services Center coordinated Bullying Prevention and Online Media Safety presentations for the students at MCHS in the Month of November.   In partnership with Socially Present, a local social media company in Paducah and the Paducah Police Department, over 800 students and teachers were able to gain information about the importance of online media safety, bullying and texting while driving.  Students were engaged in interactive presentations on how our choices can effect us for the rest of our lives and the importance of being responsible with online media because the truth is, once you put it out there, it is forever.

Centerpoint Classroom Presentations/Red Ribbon Week

October 2013

October was National Substance Abuse Prevention Month for schools all over the  nation.  The  Mustangs Youth Services Center (YSC) was in full force with their  campaign, “Stop!  In  the Name of  Drugs.” As you walked through the halls of  MCHS,  you were able find some  startling statistics and facts about the dangers of  drugs and long-term effects that they can  leave on your life from just ONE choice.

In recognition of Substance Abuse Prevention  month, the  Mustangs  YSC coordinated Red Ribbon Week along with  classroom presentations with the  good folks from Center Point  Treatment Center located here in Paducah, KY. Over 1000  students and teachers were able to listen in on the presentations  and witness the transformation  and sobriety of the men in the  programCenter Point 2013
